What we collect

Information you give us. This includes your name, company, email address, optional phone number, and anything you write in our contact form or service planner, such as your business, audience, and goals. It also includes anything you email us.

Booking information. When you book a discovery call, our scheduling provider, Calendly, collects your name, email address, and the details you enter. Calendly handles that information under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive basic technical data such as your browser and device type, pages viewed, approximate location based on IP address, and the page that referred you. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.

Information from clients. Once you hire us, we receive what we need to do the work, such as brand guidelines, photos, video footage, and access to your social accounts or website, which may include login credentials. That material is covered by your service agreement and our Terms of Service. We use SocialPilot to schedule, publish, review, and report on content for client accounts, so some client content and social performance data is processed there under SocialPilot's own privacy policy.

Our AI service planner

The planner on our site sends what you type to an AI service provider so it can suggest a service mix. Please keep your entries general. Do not include confidential business information, personal details about other people, or health information. The suggestion is a starting point, and final recommendations are made together on your discovery call.

AI-powered tools and Presence Check

The Social Desk may offer AI-powered tools on our website, including our Presence Check and service-planning tools. If you use the Presence Check, we may review publicly available information from the business website URL you provide, along with the information you enter, to generate a directional assessment and service recommendation.

The assessment is created using an AI service provider and is intended as a general starting point, not as a guarantee, professional audit, or prediction of results. Please use public business information only and do not submit confidential information, protected health information, passwords, or sensitive personal information.

We do not save the website content reviewed by the tool. If you choose to send or save your results, we may store your contact information, business details, assessment scores, and recommended service so we can provide the results and follow up with you. If you do not choose to submit your results, we do not use the tool to collect your name or email address.

Health information

Many of our clients work in healthcare and home care. Our website, forms, and planner are not designed to receive protected health information or patient information. Please do not send any through the site or to hello@the-social-desk.com. Our work is marketing and content, and we do not need patient information to do it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the people and companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need. These include website hosting, scheduling, email, analytics, form handling, project management, content scheduling, and payment providers, along with the team members, contractors, and virtual assistants who work on your account and handle your information only as needed to do the work. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, as part of a sale or transfer of the business, or when you ask us to.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the site working and to understand how people use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other services, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Calendly. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as we need it to respond to you, provide our services, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
